Mid-Semester Promises to Myself, News, and Birthday Ramble

I am almost through one of my hardest classes, which also happens to be short-term. I wasn't anticipating it being so much work because I usually breeze through my classes and I'm not very motivated right now either, so I wasn't feeling the 'work' idea in the first place. But in my mind, promises to myself are always an interesting read. Gives you a look into what people value during that period of their life. Right now:
1. I will at least do laundry often enough to always have clean underwear.. 'nuff said.
2. MacDaddy Jr will be used not only for school but for blog-browsing too. It stirs up the creative juices, unlike Facebook/Twitter which just encourage my real bitchy side to come out. Not always an unamusing thing but I know not everyone's a fan.
3. Easing off on caffeine was a STUPID idea. Back to shotgunning a RedBull before class but after my first macchiato, then making a second trip for a grande ICED macchiato. And that's on my slow days.
4. Stop talking so much!
5. The day is not complete until you've told someone you love 'em, unless it's that time of the month. Then to hell with everyone except my sweetiepie.

6. When stress-shopping, hold out unless it's something you absolutely cannot live without.

Oh and an exciting piece of news! As part of my birthday & graduation gifts, my mom pitched in money to help me get a camera. I was planning on buying it on my own but a little voice in the back of my head said I couldn't afford to spend $600 so I said I was going to wait. Thanks to my mom, I didn't have to wait. And since it is technically Monday(12:55am, DST messes me up every time), I'm getting it today! It shipped about 12 hours ago and thanks to Amazon and a closeby Arizona warehouse, it's gonna be herrrrre in hours :) There will be a blog dedicated to the camera and a haul. Yeah, I did some damage today.

Trying to save money for my birthday next week but it's either Karmaloop or an afternoon at the mall with my mom and helllo- say goodbye to Katie's money. I'm not big on birthdays so I don't have big plans but this year I am kind of making a big deal(which is still low-key on the birthday celebration scale). Rather than clubbing with people who only want to go for themselves, or overpaying for Disneyland tickets, I decided to spend my actual birthday(Friday, the 25th) with my momma. She took off work since it's a milestone in my life so I get to sleep in, go to the movies, shop, and get dinner with her. If any of my friends want to, I'll just have them meet up with us at dinner or have dessert. Then the next day, I'm going to see if anyone's free to spend the day at the beach. I <3 Santa Monica! But I may just postpone my beach weekend til spring break(overshadowing, I know) because I have quite a few papers due the day before/the Monday & Tuesday after my birthday plus a final. Not ideal but someone's gotta werk.

I may be giving up on the thought of sleep tonight so I'm perusing my favorite blogs and my outfit inspo folder for what to wear tomorrow. It's been gorgeous in socal lately and I just got some new shorts I'm begging to break in..but my clogs & jeggings are looking a little lonely too. Options, options, options!
