Loving This Week

I'm noticing a pattern in my posts- I like to blog when it's raining or during a lazy day so I feel like I did something productive haha. Today was nice but then it started raining and a sense of dread washed over me as it became apparent that I couldn't go outside if I wanted to. Which I didn't and had no intention of, but as soon as it starts raining I wish I could.

I have a few favorites this week-

I wore the heck out of my denim jacket this past month, so it's more of a favorite in general. It gives me a little extra cover and warmth during class in classrooms where my school over-zealously uses the A/C but is cuter than a hoodie. My favorite outfit so far has been pairing it with a dusty rose batwing top and black jeans.

If anyone has good inspiration for wearing denim-on-denim, send it my way! I like the idea of the trend but haven't seen anything amazing yet, despite it's being around for a while.

The next two are dresses, obviously. The pink/black one I wore to graduation and the black I'm wearing for a night out next weekend.

I'm such a fan of this dress- it hit around mid-thigh, the gathering at the chest was very flattering, and the contrast of the light pink and black was just enough to grab attention in a classy way.

I wish I had pictures of it from graduation but the unnamed person who took photos for me didn't do a very good job and it's not in any of them. This person took more pictures of themself and their significant other than they did of me with my diploma, mom, or other graduates.. some people haha but I did ask my lovely photographer friend to take some photos of me in this dress so perhaps in the next post?

(back)
LOVE this cutout dress from Foreign Exchange! Cutouts are, by far, my favorite trend right now. I have one by Motel via Urban Outfitters too but I like this one more(and it was less expensive!)
The back zipper makes me a little nervous, because the zipper bunches up like a little inchworm when I have it on sometimes and it's not the most flattering effect on your backside haha. But the front is pretty modest and it isn't a ridiculous length on me.

Orly Rage is one of the prettiest nail colors I've ever had! I'm not wearing it right now because I decided to be cheesy and get my nails done with gold polish for graduation but as soon as this starts chipping, Rage is going back on!

My flowers from graduation! I think I'll start keeping fresh flowers in my room now because they're just so pretty! except I have no idea what kind of flowers these are...if anyone knows, please tell me :)

TV-wise I'm loving Parks and Recreation! Women like Amy Poehler are so inspiring and just kick-ass in general. If you're a fan of The Office(either u.s. or u.k. version) and 30 Rock, you'll love this show too.

Speaking of 30 Rock, I love Tina Fey! And her book, Bossypants- if you take things too literally, don't even think about reading this.

Candles are lovely and I am a little happy it's raining(very deep down inside, where my California Girl heart can't see) because I can light a bunch of candles without it getting hot in my room.

Iced matcha lattes <3

Matcha is so good for you, I could go on and on about it but I'll just leave it at this- I have more energy in the morning when I drink this than I do when I make four Starbucks trips a day. The crash I've become so close to since my caffeine addiction started is now gone! I suggested making a latte(hot or cold) with vanilla almond milk or putting it in a blender with a smoothie.

Now that I'm done with school I'm going to have so much time on my hands! Initially I was a little disappointed I had to postpone starting my next school but it's not so bad now- I can take time to have a long summer break, find a job, and really get into my photography more.

Thank you to all my new followers, I'm not sure how you found me but I'm happy you did! I still think it's weird anyone would want to read what I write but thank you :)

xx Katie
