The first time I used this product(or rather, had it used on me) was when I walked into my now current salon and asked for a walk-in appointment. My stylist, Brianna, explained they were all taught at Bumble&Bumble and used only their products. The only BB product I had used before that appointment was the surf spray whenever I was at a friend's house haha
This is their description of Brilliantine:
- Gives hair polish and a sort of languid, slept-in, sexy look with separation and extra sheen.
- Who: Anyone; good for thick, coarse or dry hair.
When: Anytime; after Prep or Tonic Lotion, on its own or with other products to separate, create a smooth texture and shine.
How: Start with the tiniest bit and build up as needed; squeeze onto palm, work through damp hair with fingers to tousle or a comb to sleek.
I apply a little bit to my bangs before blow-drying to keep the hair in place when going for a soft side-swept bang or to give hair a little hold. It has a pleasant smell, nothing overly sweet or salon-ish, just clean and fresh. I like to use it on second-day hair as well- specifically when I have interesting bedhead or good texture from sleeping on wet hair. A dime-size amount gives my hair some life without weighing it down. The only con that I can think of is that applying too close to the roots will make them look greasy, but you get that with just about any product ;)
All in all, I suggest picking this up next time you pass by some Bumble products. And if you're still not sure, just remember the Victoria's Secret in a bottle comment.
